HR metrics practical measurement tools for people management
This is the first book to approach the analysis of human resources from such a multi-dimensional aspect as well as the first to use a practical, hand-on and step-by-step approach: the book teaches the "how to" of each technique in a step-by-step manner, including a wide variety of MS Excel examples and practice datasets. In this context, assessing HR issues such as employee turnover and recruitment effectiveness has become crucial in order to maximise opportunities. The data explosion in HR brought about by the increased use of enterprise resource programs such as SAP has led to an increased awareness of the competitive advantages in analysing such data. For example, recent partnerships between Accenture, SAP and the SAS Institute have focused heavily on HR data analysis, however the skills are lacking. The gap in the market for a practical, hands-on book in this field, which has been dominated by books describing the techniques but not how to apply them in practice. This is especially true of the data set-up. The financial analysis of HR (especially ROI) is currently the single most offered topic in corporate training, indicating its popularity. However, there is far more to this topic than ROI, and such training rarely teaches the "how to" properly. This book teaches the how to and covers a larger realm of financial analysis, including economic value added, utility analysis, etc. Prof Gregory John Lee is a well-known Wits Business School speaker, lecturer, researcher and consultant in the HR and statistics fields.
