http://schema.org/description

  • "A record kept by the Motive Power Accountant for valuation purposes. Besides listing the initials of the rail line operating the equipment and the car's old and new serial number and generic class, entries normally include the dates that the rolling stock was placed on the road, built, rebuilt or left vacant (month and year); the shop that did the rebuilding (Altoona, Columbus, Ft. Wayne, Missouri Car and Foundry Co., Pennsylvania Co., etc.); and the freight or passenger car's capacity and condition at time of lease. At times, the car's class code (for example, E, Ge, Dk, Pf, Q, Xa) and cost appear as well. A remarks column is used to note details such as these: "wheel base 9'"; "fit up for horses 4/90"; "iron trucks-Janney couplers"; "Hutchins roof"; "steamheat May "92" and "changed to P.C.& St. L. tool car #3"."
