  • "The papers consist of an undated letter from Emily Dickinson to Mrs. George Dickerman that had accompanied a basket of daphne; 3 ALS from Lavinia Dickinson to Mrs. George Dickerman, dated February 7 1894, August 25 [1896], and July 19 [n.y.]; and a holograph reminiscence by Elizabeth Dickerman,concerning visits to the home of Emily and Lavinia Dickinson. The reminiscence contains a quote of the poem "There are two Mays." A printed catalogue of the Emily Dickinson exhibition held at Yale in 1930 contains an inscription by exhibit curator William H. McCarthy to Elizabeth Dickerman, pointing to an additional holograph entry at the end for the Emily Dickinson letter. This is accompanied by a receipt for the loan of the letter for the purposes of exhibition, dated Dec 9, 1930, signed by McCarthy; and two ALS from Yale Librarian Chauncey Brewster Tinker to Elizabeth Dickerman regarding the disposition of the collection, with drafts of two responses from Dickerman."
