"The John Singleton Copley, Baron Lyndhurst manuscript material in the Pforzheimer Collection consists of correspondence and one holograph list of notable people ("The Rev.d Gilbert Beresford / Lord Nelson / Horatio Bolton his Nephew / Lord Cholmondely / D Chaf[fe]y Master of Sidney ..."), the purpose of which is undetermined. As Lord Lyndhurst was not in the habit of dating his letters, precise dates are difficult to figure; the bulk of the correspondence, however, bears watermarks dating between 1835 and 1837. Correspondents include: Lady Blessington, writer and literary hostess; Abraham Hayward, essayist and translator; Sir William Knighton, courtier and physician; and a few others."
