Stock assessment of rainbow trout in the upper Kenai River, Alaska, in 2001
A multiple event capture-recapture study of rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, in the upper Kenai River was conducted in 2001 as a result of concerns that mortality from catch-and-release fishing might be jeopardizing sustainability of the resource. The objectives of the study were to estimate the abundance and length composition of rainbow trout in the most heavily fished section of the upper Kenai River, from river mile 69.7-73.2.
