A theological foundation and workshop for subordinate leaders in the local church

This thesis report provides a theological foundation for subordinate leaders in the local church and an accompanying workshop. The theological foundation begins with an investigation into the relationships and roles of the Trinity and explains that subordinate leadership has its origin in the Trinity. The Trinity gives leaders of the church a picture of how the Father, the source of all authority, grants authority to Jesus, the Son, and how both the Father and the Son send the Spirit to accomplish the redemptive plan of God. Both the Son and Spirit act in perfect unity one to another and in perfect subordination to the Father-all this while being coequal in person and coeternal. The author then examines other pictures of subordinate leadership in both the Old and New Testaments by examining various roles and relationships of these leaders to their lead leader. The writer develops a workshop that conveys leadership principles that can be applied from these texts into the local church setting by both lead leaders and subordinate leaders of the church.
