The pastor leading his church to transform an apartment ministry into a reproducing church plant

Most churches have not attempted to reach the vast unchurched/unsaved population of the multihousing communities. The churches who have dared to venture into this world have utilized the methods of apartment evangelism and social ministries. These methods, while satisfying and moderately fruitful in some cases, are not God's perfect will in reaching the multitudes lost in multihousing communities. The project traces the pilgrimage of a church from the apartment evangelism/social-ministry approach to one of a reproducing church plant. The two-fold goal is: (1) to change the mind-set of a church that has practiced diverse, but ineffective evangelistic methods in apartments; and, (2) to plant an indigenous reproducing church in a multihousing community. The project will present a three-fold plan to transform a church's mind-set from doing apartment ministry to planting a reproducing church: (1) a pre-church campaign utilizing prayer, special studies, and the cascading of vital information into strategic church groups, (2) a church campaign featuring sermons, special types of prayer, testimonies from church planters, and presentations on multihousing and church planting, and (3) the beginning of the church planting phase involving prayer, contacting the apartment manager, preparation of the apartment residents, and the initial Bible study.
