Reviews of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology

This volume contains Health Advisories prepared by the Office of Drinking Water, United States Environmental Protection Agency, for 16 pesticides. The substances were selected for the Advisories according to the following criteria: 1) they are either known to occur or might reasonably be expected to occur in drinking water supplies; 2) they have the potential to cause adverse health effects in exposed humans. Each Advisory contains information on the nature of the adverse health effects associated with the contaminant and the concentrations of the contaminant that would not be anticipated to cause an adverse effect following various periods of exposure. In addition the Health Advisories summarize information on available analytical methods and treatment techniques for the contaminant. The Health Advisories contained in this volume will provide important information to agencies and individuals concerned with safeguarding our water supplies from the potential risk associated with contaminants for which national regulations may not currently exist.
