Asthma is an inflammatory condition of the airways which causes them to narrow in response to a wide range of trigger factors. The narrowing is caused by muscle constriction, inflammation of the lining of the airways and excess mucus production. Common symptoms are coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and difficulty in breathing. This Speaking From Experience program offers offer first-hand accounts from people living with the affects of asthma. They talk about the impact it has had on their lives and the ways they manage the condition. It was produced in partnership with AFV.
