Hanya Holm : a retrospective

Featuring archival footage and photographs this production traces the life and career of German modern dance pioneer Hanya Holm, from her early work with Mary Wigman through her move to the United States and establishment of her own school and dance company to her influence on an entire generation of modern dancers. The DVD also discusses her work as a choreographer for operas, films, and such Broadway shows as Kiss Me Kate, My Fair Lady, and Camelot, explaining that Holm was the first to use labanotation to document and copyright choreography for the theater.
