"Spring arrives at the circus and with it the stork delivering all the new animal babies, except the one for Mrs. Jumbo, the mother elephant. Grieving in her train compartment, Mrs. Jumbo is relieved when the stork finally delivers her offspring. The other elephants deride the little elephant for its large flapping ears, and dub him "Dumbo." Nevertheless, Mrs. Jumbo loves her child and one day, during a parade spanks a boy who sticks his tongue out at Dumbo. The crowd panics and Mrs. Dumbo is chained and imprisoned. Left on his own, Dumbo is befriended by Timothy Mouse. Timothy and Dumbo decide that if the latter were to become famous, the ringmaster would release Mrs. Jumbo, but their plan fails miserably. Undaunted, Timothy enlists the aid of the forest birds who teach Dumbo how to fly with his large ears, and he scores a tremendous success. Securing Mrs. Jumbo's release, Dumbo, Timothy and Mrs. Jumbo set off for Hollywood where new triumphs await The Flying Elephant.
