The collection provides visual evidence of how record labels marketed artists over the course of six decades and across musical genres, including country, R&B, soul, jazz, rockabilly, American and British pop, surf rock, classic rock, blues-rock, psychedelia, folk, funk, heavy metal, glam, southern rock, garage rock, acid rock, punk rock, progressive rock, death rock, alternative rock, art rock, post-punk, new wave, and grunge. Focuses of the collection include the Beatles, the Clash, Cream, Bobby Darin, Deep Purple, Devo, Donovan, Michael Jackson, Joan Jett, Tom Jones, the Kinks, KISS, the \"Rat Pack,\" the Rolling Stones, the Runaways, the Seeds, X, and the Yardbirds.
