Ten-year-old Danny knows that Victor Hazell is the meanest, meanie and snobbiest snob around. He raises the finest pheasants in the country for the hunting pleasures of the very, very rich. One pheasant alone is worth a hundred loaves of bread - enough to feed a small family for a year. When Danny's father reveals a deep, dark family secret. Danny hits upon a way to get even with old Mr. Hazell. Its an ingenious plan that involves everyone in town. And it all hinges upon the strangest secret weapon ever - a sack of raisins.
