"Some of baseball's most famous hitters run head to head in a competition for the Home Run Derby champion."@en
"It is 1959. The National and American Leagues have eight teams each. The gap between seasons seems to stretch out endlessly, until somebody decides that baseball fans would be thrilled to see something baseball related on television. Thus, Home Run Derby is born. Filmed during the off-season in Los Angeles' Wrigley Field, the top sluggers of the day are pitted against each other in 9-inning home run contests. Viewers are treated to Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Duke Snider, Hank Aaron, Harmon Killebrew, Ernie Banks, Al Kaline, Bob Allison, Wally Post, Jim Lemon, Gil Hodges, Rocky Colavito and others showing their stuff for prize money. The series is credited with inspiring the Home Run Derby event held annually the day before the All-Star Game."@en
