"Dramatique racontant la vie quotidienne d'une famille de paysans qui vivent dans une maison sur pilotis construite en bordure de la jungle dans le nord du Siam (Thaïlande actuelle) et qui doivent subir la menace constante des animaux de cette forêt. En fait, le film est prétexte à montrer ces bêtes (léopards, tigres, ours, etc.) qui seront ensuite chassés et tués. Observation du "stampede" destructeur d'un troupeau d'éléphants (Chang), leur capture dans un piège (Krall) construit par les hommes du village local, et leur domestication ultérieure. Film tourné avec des non-professionnels. Ajout en 1991 d'une bande sonore constituée de musique Thaï traditionnelle."
