  • "Este libro, publicado anonimamente en 1830, causo un notable escandalo por su tono anticristiano. Sus tres capitulos, dedicados a Dios, al Mundo y a la Conciencia, terminan con un largo poema especialmente polémico. Ludwig Feuerbach asume las tendencias panteistas de su antiguo profesor Hegel, no menos que las de Schelling y la Naturphilosophie; pero la novedad consiste en la radicalizacion de tales ideas. Pensamientos sobre muerte e inmortalidad es incluso una inversion del esquema de La Fenomenologia de Hegel, pues la crítica a la inmortalidad no parte de la conciencia, sino de Dios, respecto al cual se muestra que la conciencia, sino de Dios, respecto al cual se muestra que la conciencia es finita y por tanto mortal. Para Feuerbach la inmortalidad no corresponde al individuo, sino a la especie. La dignidad humana consiste en el sentimiento de ser un momento particular en el gran flujo vital de la humanidad que constituye lo eterno. Esta divinizacion del hombre, bien acogida por la izquierda hegeliana, se desarrollara en el estudio objetivo de la religion que explone La esencia del cristianismo, de 1846, poco antes de perderse en el aislamiento y el olvido."@es
