White mischief

In the early hours of January 24th 1941, Josslyn Hay, Earl of Erroll, hereditary High Constable of Scotland, Military Secretary to Kenya and renowned predator on other men's wives, was shot through the head. There were many who had motive for killing Erroll that night, and many had the opportunity. Nobody was convicted of his murder at the subsequent trial and it is still a classic mystery.
