"Artist Larry Rivers came to Harvard to give a slide-presentation focusing on the history behind his newest major work, "The History of Matzoh" which depicts in three 14-foot panels the two-thousand year history of judaism. He explained how he used the space of the panels and what he chose to depict in this narrative-style piece. He showed slides of various paintings, etchings, and even movie stills that he was insired by or actually used. He also showed photographs of various models he used for portraits of historical figures. He explained why he chose them and how he altered them to convey specific messages."
