Billy Gashade

In 1863 a sixteen-year-old boy from a prominent family is caught up in the New York City Draft Riots. Fleeing retribution from the Tammany Hall gang, the boy becomes Billy Gashade, a musician in saloons and pleasure houses out west. Throughout his years wandering from place to place, Billy meets characters who become legends: Calamity Jane, chief Crazy Horse, and Billy the Kid to name a few.
