The U.S. Government Contracts records subsubseries, 1941-1942 (3.2 cubic ft.), Acc. 448, primarily consists of photostatic copies of production contracts, preference rating notices and certificates, and correspondence related to Ford's production of war materials for the government during World War II. The Consignment records subseries, 1904-1939 (0.8 cubic ft. and 4 volumes), Acc. 402, 525, 1495, is made up of ledgers, purchase notices, and correspondence tracking parts, materials, equipment, and tools owned by Ford Motor Company and used by vendors and suppliers for Ford production. The Purchase Orders subseries is made up of three subsubseries. The Henry Ford Purchasing records subsubseries, 1940-1945 (3 cubic ft.), Acc. 213, consists of correspondence and invoices for purchases made for Henry Ford and various properties including the Ford Farms, Fair Lane, and Dearborn Country Club. Materials purchased include farm equipment and tools, tractors, seeds, bulbs, furnishings, and fixtures. The Henry Ford and Son, Inc. Purchasing records subsubseries, 1917-1920 (1.2 cubic ft.), Acc. 215, contains purchase orders and correspondence related to tools, machinery, and materials purchased by Henry Ford and Son, Inc. for tractor production. The Non-Automotive Purchasing records subsubseries, 1942-1945 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 783, is made up of purchase orders and vouchers submitted to Ford Motor Company's Purchasing Department for approval and payment. Purchase orders include material and equipment for Dearborn Country Club, the Edison Institute (now the Henry Ford), Edsel Ford, Harry Ferguson, Inc., Henry Ford II, and Henry Ford. Material purchased on behalf of Henry Ford includes agricultural equipment used on the Ford Farms, repair equipment and operating supplies for the Ford Village Industries, and Fair Lane."
