- "A stapes gusher is an alarming situation which may occur during stapes surgery for mixed hearing loss. It is characterised by a sudden, profuse flow of the cerebrospinal fluid into the middle aer and the external ear canal after opening of the inner ear vestibule. An adult patient with unilateral stapes gusher is presented. He was operated on both ears, with a good hearing result on both sides. The stapes on the side of cerebrospinal fluid leak was malformed especially in the posterior crus - a finding which may suggest possible stapes gusher. A CT scan revealed an abnormal connection between the inner ear canal and the vestibulum of the inner ear. Stapedotomy is a safe technique when dealing with profuse cerebrospinal fluid leaks and it enables closure of the leak, with additional tamponade of the oval niche and achievement of a good hearing result."@sl
- "Stapes gusher je redek pojav pri malformacijah notranjega ušesa, kjer pride med stapedotomijo ali stapedektomijo do nenadne obilne likvoreje v srednje uhoin sluhovod. Pogosto je operacijo težko dokončati, tudi opisani rezultati sluha po operaciji niso dobri. Avtorji večinoma odsvetujejo operacijo pri sumuna možno cerebrospinalno likvorejo. V prispevku opisujeva bolnika z enostransko malformacijo notranjega ušesa, ki je bil uspešno operiran na obeh straneh. Zadnji krak stremenca je bil na strani z likvorejo slabo razvit, celotno stremence je bilo nagnjeno proti promontoriju. Na CT-sliki je bila ugotovljena povezava med notranjim kanalom in vestibulumom notranjega ušesa. Stapedotomija z luknjico v ploščici stremenca premera 0,5 mm se je izkazala kot zanesljiva operacijska tehnika, s katero je možno zapreti cerebrospinalno likvorejo, seveda ob dodatni tamponadi ovalne niše in zadnjega dela srednjega ušesa, in doseči tudi izboljšanje sluha."@sl
