The crossroads
Frustrated with a government that pays him to bury surplus produce while city people starve, Eben Smith loads his wagon with fruits and heads for the city with the intention of bartering them. However, his way soon becomes uncertain, and after falling into a nexus in time, Eben is soon bartering much more than produce with cultures in a series of alternate realities, accidentally wreaking havoc in each one.
