John Guthrie (d.ca.1730) and his brothers, James and Robert, immigrated from Scotland to Boston, Massachusetts because of the religious persecutions led by Oliver Cromwell. John later settled in Litch- field County, Connecticut. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansas and elsewhere. Includes some family history and genealogi- cal data to 1299 A.D. in Scotland.
