Getting Drunk

Using 3-D computer graphics, this episode reveals some fascinating insights into alcohol and the physical and psychological effects it has on the human body. The video looks at the behavior of three women and three men as they venture out on a group blind date. They start sober but, as they drink more, the alcohol has some interesting effects on their sex hormones. Dr. John Marsden, a senior research psychologist at the National Addiction Centre, Institute of Psychiatry, and a government advisor on drug policy, takes part in his own experiment to help explain why it is that women get drunk more easily than men. Dr. Marsden has worked with both the World Health Organization and the United Nations.
