Rooted theoretically in the work of Michel Serres and empirically in the Valtellina, a valley in the Italian Alps, it charts the efforts of a local nonprofit organization to inscribe the valley's terraced vineyards onto Unesco's World Heritage list, and the material and narrative transformations they undergo as a consequence.</span></span><br /></span>
