Er schrieb Theaterstücke und Drehbücher und seinen ersten Roman "Eine Kiste explodierender Mangos", der bereits kurz nach Erscheinen für den Man Booker Prize nominiert wurde. Im Herbst 2008 kehrte er mit seiner Familie nach Pakistan zurück und arbeitet dort als Korrespondent der BBC. Er lebt in Karachi."
