Secondary school programming process final report
The process of examining secondary programming in Whitehorse arises as a followup to a School Facilities Study completed in June 2007. The work represents the initial step in a larger process of creating a secondary education system responsive to the needs and changing realities of secondary students in Yukon. Proactive Information Services Inc. was contracted by the Yukon Department of Education to undertake the project. The project was guided by a Secondary School Programming Advisory Committee with broad governmental and stakeholder representation. The role of the Advisory Committee was outlined as follows: to provide advice regarding process, to identify stakeholders to be included in the data collection process, to provide advice regarding appropriate methods for obtaining input within their context, and to review the draft report to ensure clarity and comprehensiveness. This report includes the methodology of the project, a literature review, a program inventory, analysis of existing information, qualitative data of Yukon education, surveys and community consultations.--Includes text from document.
