Cette dynamique conduit notamment à l'accélération de la création urbaine en périphérie, selon un processus de périurbanisaton. Dans ce contexte, l'analyse des trajectoires résidentielles et des modes d'accès au logement des habitants a permis la reconstitution des stratégies qui président à l'installation en milieu périurbain, les ménages exprimant dans leurs choix de résidence un rapport choisi avec la société. Les configurations socio-spatiales qui émergent de ces pratiques ont amené à proposer une lecture transversale des recompositions métropolitaines en cours."
