The seventh son of the seventh son, aptly named Septimus Heap, is stolen the night he is born by a midwife who pronounces him dead. That same night, the baby's father, Silas Heap, comes across a bundle in the snow containing a new born girl with violet eyes. The Heaps take this helpless newborn into their home, name her Jenna, and raise her as their own. But who is this mysterious baby girl, and what really happened to their beloved son Septimus? The first book in this enthralling new series by Angie Sage leads readers on a fantastic journey filled with quirky characters and magykal charms, potions, and spells. Magyk is an original story of lost and rediscovered identities, rich with humor and heart. In his place, his parents raise an abandoned newborn baby girl. Ten years later an evil wizard named Dom Daniel appears to search for the baby girl, who is actually a princess."

  • "The first book in a major fantasy series, featuring cunning, deception, quirky characters, clever charms and lots of humour. Septimus Heap is stolen at birth and the very same night his father, Silas Heap, rescues a baby girl from a snowy path in the woods. The Heaps decide to bring her up as their own. But who is she, and what has become of little Septimus? Ten years later there is a knock at the door, and the truth begins to unfold. The evil necromancer DomDaniel is plotting his comeback and a Major Obstacle resides in the Heap family. Life as they know it is about to change."
