Up from the Volga the story of the Ochs family

Peter Ochs was a direct descendant of Germany immigrants to Schoenfeldt (which was along the Volga) in Samara, Russia in 1763. In 1875, he and others of his extended family immigrated (via New York) to land near Great Bend, Barton County, Kansas. In 1881 they moved to Port- land, Oregon, and in 1882 to Endicott, Washington (with additional land at Wilcox, Washington). During the 1890s, the Ochs family became converts to the Seventh-Day Adventists, and many later became active missionaries (some immigrated to Alberta and elsewhere in Canada). Descendants and relatives lived in Kansas, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and elsewhere.
