SI chemical data

This book is a supplementary text for students in undergraduate chemistry courses, and in high school subjects specialising in chemistry. The chemicals included are chosen specifically to cover those typically studied in these courses. This edition has 8 extra elements, with 50 extra compounds in Inorganic Properties. Updated hazards for all inorganic and organic compounds. Hazards for aqueous solutions extended to more concentrated, and more dilute, solutions. Shapes of molecules and ions expanded. Bond dissociation enthalpies, electron affinities, isotopic abundances and fundamental constants updated.

http://schema.org/description

  • "All of the constants and property data in this book are in SI (Systeme International d'Unites) units, a coherent system of units that have been adopted by many countries. The basic SI units, and common derived SI units, are listed on page 1. For multiple and fractional decimal units, the system makes use of prefixes which are (usually) familiar from the metric system, to which the SI system is related. Conversion factors to other units commonly encountered are on pages 3 and 4. This book is written for university students, and is limited to the basic units and common substances usually encountered in undergraduate chemistry courses. Most of the data can be located in the large standard handbooks, though not necessarily in SI units. The small size and ease of arrangement make this a particularly handy reference work for thermochemical data of common organic and inorganic compounds, and for basic atom and bond-related data, such as average bond enthalpies, bond lengths, electronegativities, and ionization potentials."
