Remember the Ugandan Asians

In November 1972 thirty thousand Ugandans of Asian descent were forced to leave the country for the United Kingdom, following a decree to that effect by President Idi Amin Dada. This program looks at how the Ugandan Asians arrived in London dispossessed and mostly penniless and how they have coped since. British reaction to the influx of refuges, sometimes negative and racist, is also considered.
