"The collection consists of a small amount of personal correspondence and documents, newspaper clippings, photographs, miscellaneous manuscript items, invitations and programmes. The correspondence and invitations in part concern Davies' association with a number of societies and organisations in Sydney, including the United Grand Lodge of N.S.W., the Grand Division of Sons of Temperance and the International Exhibition of 1879. The remainder includes congratulatory letters on Davies' award of a C.M.G. in 1880, five letters from Henry Parkes, several from L.W. Wallington, Governor Carrington's A.D.C., and one in Carrington's own hand. The papers also contain some handwritten poetry (including \"The bounding kangaroo\" and \"Colonial athletes\"); programmes, etc. relating to the celebration of Queen Victoria's Jubilee in June 1887; and two printed texts of speeches by Henry Parkes."@en . . .
