Annabelle, a beautiful con artist, is planning the heist of the century. Jonathan DeHaven, the shy head of the Rare Books Division at the Library of Congress, is planning nothing more than an uneventful day amongst his cherished collection. But something fatal is waiting for him. When fellow librarian Caleb Shaw stumbles upon his colleague's body, his friends in the Camel Club are determined to investigate this inexplicable death. But when they visit Jonathan's home it is clear that there was much more to him than a mild manner and a love of books. While Annabelle flees from the terrifying consequences of her scam, the Camel Club members move closer to uncovering a secret code and find themselves confronting powerful enemies.
