Survey of objective studies of psychoanalytical concepts : A report
"The present report is a summary and appraisal of published investigations, both experimental and observational, that relate to problems and concepts deriving from Freudian theory. A further selection has been made within Freud's own theory. In order to keep the report of reasonable length, only those data have been included that relate to Freud's own theoretical formulations. A word must be said as to the quality of the data available for consideration in this survey. Much of the observational material quoted was secured by investigators whose interests had nothing to do with psychoanalysis. Their studies concerned other matters altogether, and some of them may be astonished to find their data put to the present use. Such material has been included in order to secure as complete a bibliography of relevant studies as possible"--Preface. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2007 APA, all rights reserved).
