Spanky and the gang are putting on a show with Alfalfa top-billed as the "King of the Crooners." But Alfalfa tells the gang his crooning days are over and leaves to join the opera. After signing a contract with the opera effective in 20 years, Alfalfa returns home and takes a nap. After dreaming of his disastrous future in opera and the success the gang has in popular music, he awakes and rushes to join the rest of the gang in time for the closing number.
