The peace corps volunteer and achieving educational change with new media

The Peace Corps inaugurated the educational television (ETV) project in Bogota, Colombia, at the beginning of 1964. During the first weeks, 38,000 pupils in 200 schools in or near the capital received a small portion of televised instruction. Two years later, 345,000 pupils in 1,150 schools throughout the country, about 20 percent of the national enrollment, were receiving the care of all instruction by television. The report covers the field study of the first two years: it evaluates technological problems, teacher problems and attitudes and effectiveness of teaching.
