"Bookseller's description: A very rare music manuscript, containing a "tonary" explaining the Gregorian tones to which the psalms are sung. It begins with a chart "Literae Dominicales"; this is followed by antiphons and hymns. Then the Gregorian tones are explained: "octo toni regulares", "Toni irregulares", "Toni Hymnorum". Different melodies to the same words are noted for different occasions. The Requiem for the Dead is followed by a beautiful hymn "Homo natus in hoc mundo". In the end "Lamentationes Hieremiae", set for "supra" and "tenor". Page [i.e. fol.] 21 verso contains some verses, a pun on the word "Fallo" (probably the writer of the manuscript?". A small portion of one page [fol. 42] is cut away, with no loss of text, otherwise in fine condition."
