Equipping select members of Calvary Baptist Church, Blue Springs, to die well biblically
The purpose of this project was to lead a select group ofthe membership of Calvary Baptist Church, Blue Springs, Missouri through an eight-week bible study designed to equip them to die well biblically. The project objectives included discovering the biblical perspective on dying well and developing a bible study that addresses the major elements of dying well biblically. The elements of dying well biblically as set forth in this project are as follows. First, in order to die well biblically, we must die being found in Christ. Second, to die well biblically, we must die following the example of Christ. Further, six elements ofthe Lord's example are emphasized. First, Jesus honored the Father in death. Second, Jesus died pursuing the purposes ofthe Father. Third, Jesus died having forgiven those who wronged him. Fourth, Jesus died having cared for his family. Fifth, Jesus died having entrusted himself to the Father's care. Sixth, Jesus died with the confidence of the resurrection. This project successfully addresses the issues related to dying well biblically and achieved moderate short-term observable change in project participants.
