George, Jack, and their mother relocate to Bowmanville, Ontario and the boys soon find themselves delivering mail in a prisoner of war camp. While doing their after-school job, they have been told to keep their eyes and ears open because the prisoners are desperate to escape and will do whatever it takes to carry out their plans.
