The Army list 2011. Part 1. Part 1
Since 1740 lists have been maintained of the officers and regiments of the British Army. Over the years it has been a standard source of reference for historians and families of officers alike (famously playing a vital role in Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest). Sadly in recent years such volumes have no longer been reproduced in printed form. Now, in response to popular demand, Dandy Booksellers is able to once again offer this important resource. The Army List 2011 contains details of major army appointments, headquarters and establishments, as well as regimental and corps lists of officers of the British regular and territorial armies. It also contains details of affiliated institutions and of Commonwealth governments and military forces represented in the United Kingdom. The information on officers' records is correct as of 27 January 2012 as held on the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) database.
