Murder among Friends

Behind the thickly-curtained windows of Cecily Lightwood's flat in war-time London, a party is in progress. But the party is not going well because everyone is waiting for the arrival of handsome Aubrey Ritter, the famous playwright. Ritter's non-appearance dominates the evening, distressing or annoying guests in different degrees--until the party is finally shattered when Ritter's savagely murdered body is discovered on the stairs. One member of the party stands accused, but another, Alice Church, cannot believe that is the answer.
