Genealogy of Heinrich Klippenstein 1849-1977

History of the Klippenstein families who emigrated from South Russia to Manitoba (Canada) in 1874. The family of Bernhard Klippenstein (b. 1781) and Katarina Penner (b. 1785) remained in South Russia until ca. 1874, when their son, Johann Klippenstein (1809-1877) and his wife, Margaretha Sawatzky (1807-1881) immigrated to Canada, with their youngest son and his family. Their son, Heinrich (1849-1929), was born in Bergthal, in South Russia. In 1870, he married Sarah Friesen, settled in East Reserve (Manitoba), and then moved in 1891 to Alt-Bergthal in West Reserve (Manitoba). Of their twelve children only six survived. Focus is on the surviving six children and their descendants, i.e. Heinrich H., Peter H., Bernhard, Johann H., Abram, Margaretha, and Sarah. Descendants and allied families live throughout Canada, Eastern Europe, Australia, Zaire, Britain, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Trinidad, and the United States.
