In 1961, Derek Leech emerges fully formed from the Thames, destined to found an empire encompassing pop music, Hollywood studios, newspapers, publishing, and television. In 1978, three ambitious young men meet Leech and strike a deal. They are offered a life of wealth, glamour and success, but a price must be paid, a sacrifice made. Now, in 1994, Leech's diabolical purpose moves to its conclusion, and as the young men struggle against damnation, they finally begin to realize what the perfect sacrifice is.
