  • "Schoolteacher Audrey Pride is trapped in Thunder Ridge, Texas. The typically dry-as-a-bone small town is deluged, preventing travel, and a stranded wagon train is plagued with sickness. Caring for the sick and fighting the storm doesn't dampen Audrey's attraction to widower Eli Gray. And her feelings grow even stronger as she cares for Eli's son during his grandmother's illness. After losing his wife while he was away at war, Eli has never forgiven himself. Now he has built a wall around his heart. As long as nobody breaches it, he'll never again be so completely devastated. But as the town sags under the weight of water and illness, Eli and Audrey come to rely on each other in ways they never thought possible. Will Audrey ever convince Eli that he deserves more than a solitary existence?"@en
