- "Romano Guardini's complex views of European culture were at variance with Nazi ideology: he stood firmly against the mythologyzing of Jesus by the Third Reich and emphasized Jesus' Jewishness. He also opposed the politicization of the universiies whose mandate was to guard the Christian worldview for each generation. For these reasons, the Nazis peremptorily abolish his professorship in Berlin in 1939. This never before published manuscript reveals his thought when Hitler first came to power.
