The early life of Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was born 12 February 1809 in LaRue County, Kentucky. His parents were Thomas Lincoln (1778-1851) and Nancy Hanks. They were descended from Samuel Lincoln (b. 1620) of Norfolk, England. Samuel emigrated in 1637 and settled in Hingham, Massachusetts. Abraham's family moved to Spencer County, Indiana in 1816. After his mother died, his father married Sarah Bush Johnston, a widow, in 1819. They moved to Illinois in 1830. Details his early career in and out of politics.
