Pars fractures in adolescent athletes

Pars Fractures in Adolescent Athletes provides an overview of a common injury that occurs in young athletes. In general, this injury, typically referred to as lumbar spondylolysis (a unilateral or bilateral stress fracture of the narrow bridge between the upper and lower pars interarticularis or slipped vertebra that has developed a crack, respectively) is believed to be caused by fatigue which results from the loading and unloading of this region of the vertebrae from physical activity. The DVD discusses how the injury is normally clinically evaluated and what the options are for treating it. The DVD also looks at a physical rehabilitation program for young athletes with this injury.
