"In 2003 KITLV initiated "Recording the future", an ambitious audio-visual documentation project which portrays everyday life in Indonesia. In cooperation with LIPI and Off Stream Independent Filmmakers in Jakarta recording were made in eight different places throughout the archipelago (see map)... Substantial part of the recordings consists of interviews with different Indonesians. Excerpts from 26 interviews, held between 2003 and 2006, have been selected for advanced level language teaching purposes. The recordings are not subtitled so that students can learn to understand every day venacular Indonesian. They are suitable for use at home or in the classroom."--Verso t.p. of booklet.
