Somebody killed Milner

At the end of the Japanese war in the Far East, widower Charles Milner became a prosperous buyer of surplus war materials. Unscrupulous to a degree, his name became notorious throughout Hong Kong. After an affair with a married Eurasian woman, he returned to England to avoid his paternity responsibilities. No fewer than five people became suspect when retribution overtook Milner. Revenge appeared to Superintendent Crane to be the likely motive, but the method by which the murder was committed remained obscure.
